HELP WANTED! The Holtville Dixie Youth League is always in need of volunteers. There are no paid employees, yet this can become a full time job for some. Here are some suggested areas in which you can help make our league more successful:
Offer to help prepare the fields before and after games. Ask your child's coach what you can do to help in this area. We always need help working in the concession stand. You don't have to handle money or even cook. Sometimes they simply need someone to put the food in the window for pick-up or help filling coolers for the dugouts. Help us keep the ball park clean. This can be as simple as correcting your child when he or she throws trash on the ground rather than in the cans provided. Help your coaches and Team Moms clean up around the bleachers after your child's ball game. Unlike some of our neighboring leagues, we are not public property and cannot enjoy the benefit of having prisoners assigned to pick up trash at our parks. It is left to the Board Members, coaches, Team Moms, and parents. We need all the help we can get! Let someone know if the bathrooms need restocking. If you notice the rolls of toilet paper, paper towels or soap are low, let someone in the concession stand know or even offer to replace the rolls or fill up the soap dispenser. Thank you for your support! |
